My project revolves around graphic experimentation using skateboarding as a means of expression. To carry it out, I placed canvases in emblematic places in Barcelona, such as MACBA and Picnic DIY, known for being meeting points for the skate community. The idea was to allow skaters to skate freely on these canvases and capture the marks and stains left by the wheels in motion.
Once I got these marks on the canvases, I began to explore shapes and textures using digital programs and techniques. My goal was to transform impressions obtained on the streets into a digital art form. This phase of digital experimentation allowed me to play with shapes and textures, expanding the creative possibilities of the original brands.
The project culminated in the creation of an editorial piece that documents and celebrates this process. This post wants to highlight the unique culture of skateboarding in the city and the way creativity can emerge from unexpected urban contexts.
